Chicken Maharani Recipe

Ingredients:

For marination:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken breast
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste

  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder

  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken:

In a bowl, mix together yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Add the boneless chicken breast to the marinade and coat it well. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate for at least 2 hours.

  1. Cook the chicken:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the marinated chicken to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through. Alternatively, you can cook the chicken on a grill or in a pan.

  1. Prepare the gravy:

In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. Add ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin seeds, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and red chili powder. Sauté for 2-3 minutes.

  1. Add the tomato puree:

Add the tomato puree to the pan and mix well. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the tomato puree is cooked and the oil separates from the sides.

  1. Add cream:

Add the heavy cream to the pan and mix well. Simmer the gravy for 5-7 minutes or until it thickens. Add salt to taste.

  1. Add the chicken:

Add the cooked chicken to the pan and mix well with the gravy. Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is coated with the gravy.

  1. Garnish:

Turn off the heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan. Mix well. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

  1. Serve:

Serve hot with rice, naan, or roti.
